I had to post some pics of Hayley's artwork. The class took VanGogh's "Starry Night", and divided it into equal parts. Each child was given a section to paint, and then they put them all together to make the entire painting. I thought that was a really cool idea. Hayley got the bottom corner which included log cabins....which means that my mother, who collects cabins, will be the lucky recipient of this painting. No fair! But....I get the pinch pot....which I absolutely love. She made it to match my kitchen, with yellow(ish) checks and cherries. It's so cute....and honestly, it was the best one out of the class! (No, I'm not too biased!)
As you can see, my leg is healing. I do think the stitches could have been pulled a little tighter....still, it's getting better and doesn't hurt like it used to. Truth be told, the bruise hurt worse than the cut. I'm just glad it's all healing and things are getting back to normal. I can finally walk in the morning without feeling the pull from the stitches. I have to admit though, it is kinda fun going shopping and seeing the looks on little kids faces when they see my leg. More than a few have stopped in awe, coming near enough to touch me. Of course I remind them to stay near the shore at the beach....the sharks are bad this year....I'M KIDDING....kinda....
We have enjoyed four years in this house with no one behind us. We finally have the backyard just the way we want it. Not a blade of grass to be cut, pristine landscaping, perfectly placed perennials....and now the people behind us decide to build a new house wayyyyy back on their property. Alllll the way back to our yard. Well, gee....thanks. It's actually not as far back as our fence, but it will definitely lessen our privacy. I've got construction workers outside my window by 6 am every morning....and unfortunately they are the ones with keggers, not six-packs. Dang, I just can't catch a break! Of course, once they actually start building the house the buff, tanned, hard bodies should arrive. I imagine it would be rather hard keeping your balance on the roof with a belly the size of a beach ball....
I had a picture of the pineapple all ready to go....but it's on my other computer. It hasn't grown very much....the green top has gotten taller, but that's it. We've had a lot of rain, so maybe it'll grow a bit this week. I wonder how big it will get. I almost bought one at the store the other day....$4.99! That's ridiculous. Of course, in three more years I'll have another one....which I suppose technically would make it $2.50. However, I'm not planning on living here in three years, and who knows if the next owners will be partial to pineapple? So, I suppose it's sliced Dole for me from now on....
Tonight we are going to a vbs program at church in which Hayley will be singing and performing. I'm looking forward to it. It's not our church, but Hayley is involved heavily through her little friend. Everyone knows here there, which makes it nice. She has networked more since we've moved here than I have! LOL....
JB is going deep sea fishing Saturday. He geared up today at Walgreens....2 bottles of Propel and a package of Dramamine. I hope he does well....I know I wouldn't. Apparently they go about 20 miles off shore and spend the day on a boat. Not my idea of paradise....that's for sure. I think he's hoping to see a shark....just as long as he doesn't catch it and expect me to clean it!
Time to go fight the traffic and enjoy an evening of off key singing, stale cookies and weak orange kool-aid. Ahhhh, can life get any better than this?*

ya got yourself a little artist there for sure. sorry you'll be losing your back yard view, due to neighbors building a new home. enjoy vbs and the snack, lol
Oh, My Darling! So much to comment on, as you are definitely as busy as ever! GREAT JOB to HAY for getting the award, and yep, that pinch pot is beautiful! You'll have to put in a picture when you get it placed in the perfect spot in the kitchen.
I sure wish your leg didn't get the injury it did. I am glad that nothing was broken, but you sure did a good one on yourself. . . Is the gate gone? How about Betsy, is she still seeing her boyfriend? Sorry about your privacy being bilked, but enjoy the roofers, you're right, they do tend to be easier on the eyes than the heavy machine operators! Take care, and best to ya. . . Kris
PS, I will be watching for the pineapple, of course, and yeesh, 4.99 whenyou can grow your own down there? Highway robbery. . .
Ya know, there's something to be said for a kegger if you don't like the shoes you're wearing...don't have to see 'em! lmao
Hayley is so talented and too freakin' cute! Sorry about the new neighbors...gonna move the pool? Oh, and nice new pic of you!!!
Ah dang the minute they started building behind me I put up a stockade fence. I KNOW how you feel I really do i have neighbors up high that can see over my fenceand that stinks.
I love th epainting idea that is cook and her pinch pot is great shes artisitc. . your pic insert is red x cant see it.
try mederma on your scar it worked great on Arthurs head and Rachaels leg. sure looks bad though It really does.
I bet haley will be great in VBS too take pics for us So glad to see you have an entry. I hope your house builders are buff and tan lol
I can't believe you are still so bruised. :) Once you have the other leg healed you can start thinking of creative stories to tell about what the scar is from. :)

That is a really nice picture of you!! Hayley is just full of herself isn't she??!!! Good that she is staying busy. Your leg is healing nicely, Vitamin E is real good for scars, it fades them. I used it on my elbow and alot of the scar has faded. Maybe you won't have nosey neighbors like ours!!!
Beautiful painting!! Your daughter has talent that's for sure! Love that pot too. How sweet that she made it to coordinate with your kitchen. :) Sorry to hear about your new neighbors building on the lot behind you. That is always a bummer when your view changes and to have a house right there would make me nuts enough to move. That is going to be one heckofa' scar you are going to have. WOW! Buy some of that scar stuff and start putting it on now to help a bit. Just consider it a battle wound and keep telling bigger and bigger fishtales about how you got it over the years. LOL!
Hugs and love,
Lisa
Okay, Sherry, start looking into BAMBOO - there are lots of different varieties and if you plant it all along the back of your property, it won't take long to fill in and block out your neighbors back there. Bamboo grows really tall (some types are up to 20' and others can go to 40' - but really, 12-15' is all you'd need!) - and here in FL, it grows fast too. We planted some at our old house and we're looking into buying some more for this house. I know EXACTLY how you feel though - privacy is KEY!!!
I love the Starry Night idea, and Hayley's art is wonderful! Glad to know you're healing up, too.
Have a great day,
Carol
Good luck to hubby on the deep sea fishing. I was in Bass Pro Shop last night to get Father's day presents, and I saw fishing lures the size of small children. At first I thought they were a joke to hang on your wall. Then my friend told me they were for deep sea fishing. I do not want to meet the fish that bites that bait!!!

yay sherry you decided to do some entries i am soooooooooooo happy, hayleys art work is fantastic!!! she is sooo your daughter yellow checks and cherries but it does look great though now if she could just make another one with blue and white checks with lemons ..........................

You wouldn't really pull that "Shark bit me" stuff on the little ones, would you? But that it is an impressive gash you've got there. Not quite sure what a "pinch pot" is but Hayley's sure is a cute one, beautifully done. She really deserves the win.
There is a whole subdivision going in behind us. Lots of construction and noise at 6 am. What is a pinch pot? It's cute but I've never heard of it.
With buff, tanned, hard bodies behind your house who would want privacy?! Enjoy the new view and when the house is done put up a nice privacy fence :-)
Forgot to mention, I love the new picture of you in the sidebar!
loved the pictures :)
what a cute idea for an art project
and that pinch pot is adorable :)

Your leg is healing nicely. and all that walking is paying off. Those are some skinny legs you got there. Your daughter is so talented. Wow. I love her stuff!
and the only thing I hate more than neighbors, are NEW neighbors. LOL
I can't take credit for the above. I heard it on a cartoon the other day while making my bed. LOL but it's true!
Hayley's painting is awesome! I love Starry Night too! You've gotta take pics of the hot bods, of course they will be coming next since like you said Rolie Pollies will fall flat on thier back of they were building!
Wheww....soooo glad you're back! Always love reading your entries! Hayley's artwork is wonderful. Hope ya'll have a nice Father's Day tomorrow. Take care. :)
You get more and more beautiful every single day. You're glowing!
Beautiful photo of you in your sidebar Sherry!! And Hayley is gorgeous too, as is her superb art work!!! Sorry you're losing your view ~ what a bummer ~ hopefully the musclebound builders will make up for it a bit!!! And you will NEVER look like the Bride of Frankenstein ~ dodgy knee or otherwise lol ~ keep well my friend and see you soon :-)
