I'm so lazy....

Well, I have managed to make it till 2:00 without starting my sewing....and now I am behind. Crap. I hate it when I do that. I did clean the house, wash floors, do laundry, etc. I enjoy that, but the sewing gets on my nerves sometimes. My dh works for a company that makes halos for people who have broken their necks, etc., and cervical implants for the spine. What I make are surgical positioning board covers. They go over the posts on special tables that are used for back surgery. They kind of look like hats. I had never sewn before with a machine when my dh volunteered my services....so I was sent to the woman's house who was previously doing it, for a 2 day lesson. Now, I can whip those suckers out like nothing on my $3000 machine....but I have no idea how to actually use the machine to make anything cool like curtains or slip covers. I really should invest in a sewing class or something like that. I would love to make specialty pillows or something of that nature to sell. But, that would involve me researching, taking classes, honing my skills....and I am much too lazy for that. But, I've been thinking about it. Who knows? In a year you may be referring to me as Sherry the Pillow Queen....

NOPE !!! Can't call you the "Pillow Queen". Remember I used to be a bouncer in a GoGo club? Well, the pillow queen name comes nowhere near what that name brings to mind hahaha Just stick with Sherry.

My Mom used to sew graduation caps & gowns in her home for what she called pin money. She was such an excellent seamstress, but never had the patience to teach me, wish she had.

Go to a place like Michaels or JoAnn's and look into a sewing class. My Mom taught me to sew when I was young, so I can sew clothes and stuff like that (don't be jealous...) You sound like you can't sit still for a minute, so I'm sure your next entry will be about how you outfitted the cast of your daughters school play or something like that...

My mother was big on making clothes, curtain our halloween costumes and so many other things..she did beautiful work & so worth the effort. She doesnt sew anymore but i wish she did. I never took to it myself...If you like sewing then I think you should do it, you can only regret not doing it, you'll never regret going for it!

Oh my gosh a 3000 machine? You are sooooo lucky. I have a 150 dollar machine. LOL big difference. Go take lessons. Don't waste that. It's really easy. My Mom could show you but you are too far away. I know a little. But it is tons of fun I think.

I had a business for a number of years designing and fabricating draperies and other soft accessories. If you're really thinking about this...I could give you some direction as far as how to get going. There are places to go and great resources to learn all the tricks of the trade.
