Is it just me or does j-land seem like a ghost town? Aside from the few regulars that I read, it seems a great many have decided to give up their AOL journals and move on to another blogging provider. I was talking to a friend and told her I was going to sit back and see what happens before deciding what to do about the whole "ad fiasco". Actually, although I don't like the ads at the top, I can live with them. AOL is going through many changes, trying to "keep up with the Jonses'" if you will. I'm sure more changes are on the way. It's true that AOL isn't what it once was. However, it isn't the company that makes it "home" to me, but the friends I've made here. So, I will be staying....and hopefully I won't be alone....but it sure does seem quiet around here anymore.
Today I had to take wee one to the dentist. She had a small cavity and has to have a baby tooth pulled. Apparently it is hanging on for dear life, and the permanant tooth above it is beginning to grow in sideways....so in January she will have the little bugger pulled. She was not thrilled with that idea....as well as the suggestion that perhaps she needs braces. We will see about that though. He said her bite is off on one side of her mouth, but other than that, she has nice, straight, evenly spaced teeth. It was suggested that I get braces as a kid, due to a Madonna-esque space between my front teeth....however in high school it closed up and I was fine. I suppose I'll take her for the referral appointment....but you know what will happen....she will suddenly "need" them immediately! Sigh.
London is doing really well....she doesn't potty (or anything else!) in the house during the day or in her cage at night. However....in the evening when she plays with us, it seems she can't control herself! For the past two nights she has had two tinkle incidents per evening. I suppose it may be that she is just so excited to play with the girls....I take her out every time she wakes up from a nap (or every thirty minutes if she isn't sleeping), ten minutes after every drink of water or bit of food, and once in the middle of the night when she wakes up. I suppose she will grow out of it....but until then thank God for the "OUT" spray. I am not kidding when I say it takes every trace of odor out of the carpet. You can also add it to the steam cleaner for those "messy" accidents....but thank goodness that isn't an issue here!
She spends most of her day sleeping and playing on the porch. I hate to say this but....I'm glad the weather has been mild lately. I can keep the sliding door open and she can come in and out as she pleases. For the past two days she has been eyeing a certain ornament on my tree, and today whilst sewing, I thought I heard her in the family room. Well, I snuck quietly to the porch and what did I see? Yup, she had gotten that ornament and was proceeding to give it a good chew! When she saw me she kind of pushed it under her paw and looked at me like, "What? I'm not doing anything!" LOL....I put it waaaayyyy up high this time. Of course, I'll probably be picking up the tree tomorrow after she tries to climb up to retrieve it!
Okay, I'm off to wash my face, brush my teeth and read a magazine for a bit. Tomorrow morning London has her first vet appointment....here's hoping she likes needles!

I hope you don't leave-I certainly enjoy reading your journal.:)
Good luck at the vet.

That picture of Betsy is stunning!!! :) I like it, too!!
I agree with J-Land being a ghost town, but I'm thinking it's also the holidays. People are too tired to do any journalling... I know I am anyway.... (err...and you kind of look like it, too! LOL)

Love the pic of betsy. thats so sweet you two napping. OH I wanted one of those chairs for along time under the club house. J land well Im going to stay. I think if you leave and keep your screen name your only giving up a free service they provide you and still paying them. I look at it this wayabout staying and the adds. WE RENT our journal space. WE don not own them we cant take them just anyplace we decide to sign up for an isp like if you buy a domain. So we are renting. If I rent a house.......... The owner who pays for the upkeep and expenses will get to put a sign up inthe yard add on or plant trees or do what ever to it. Not like my house I own. N on one can tlel me what to do with it. They cant come put a sign up. BUT I have said if AOL wants to pay for the upkeep on big ole four wheel drive they can put a banneron it. YUP SIRE REE I can be bought. I ll drive with that big ole banner if they wanna pay for gas and maintenance. LOL IM staying it s easy and I haveother things like taking care of my grandmother two houses down and my mom whos getting alzhiemers and my dad who is needing more help with things lately than to spend time fighting with other bloggers trying to post in them and THIS IS SO easy I just cant give that up. IM LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!IM glad your staying and to be honestI really needed to slow down and J time and this did the trick. Yeah J land is chainging and I hear they are working ona way to add video from our cameras isnt that neat.
She is such a doll Sherry, I love her so much! And shes such a smart girl too, you have a real winner there! I loved the pic of you all sleeping on the bed, that was so sweet...
Awww, I love that pic of the 3 "girls" sleeping on the bed! LOL! I know you will get your hubby back BIG TIME for that one though! And, I don't feel J-land is a ghost town personally. I still have bunches of journals to read and most of the people I read before have stayed except for maybe about 4 of them. I cannot keep up with the ones who have moved to other blog places though. If I don't get an alert, I can't remember, period. But, I am VERY happy that you have stayed! I would be lost without my Sherry to read each day!! Bethany is going in sometime in January to get her cavities filled. Yes, I said cavities. She has MANY of them, and she needs braces too. We'll get around to that right about when she gets interested in boys. You see, I have a plan oh yes indeedy! LOL! And, HEY, I had that space between my teeth too!! But, I had surgery at 9 years old to get it out of there. They cut the thingie that was keeping them apart out so that the teeth would grow together and they did. But, I did end up needing braces anyway at 25 years old. sigh.
Hugs and lots of love,
Lisa
Yeah I agree with you about the ads...It didnt really bother me as much as it did for others...I mean I comtemplated leaving to go to blogger or somewhere else but said it would take to much time and effort to redo all that I had did on aol...plus i was too lazy...lol...

Awe poor London getting shots...horrible! But necessary. I love the pictures of her with the cat so much. Those are just so precious! My cat that looks like your cat would have beat that puppy to death with claws and biting if she was that close. My cat is such a meany! Love those fuzzy green slippers..that was an awesome shot. The swinglooks fun....the girls are both gorgeous. Do they wear the same sneakers?LOL
Yeah aol does seem like a ghost town these days. London sounds so adorable!! Roxi hides things in her mouth so we cant see them and we get to play chase the puppy. She is kinda quick for a fatso. We tried to kennel her at night to keep her from eatting Justins Army stuff but she freaked out so bad in their that we had to take her right out after 10 minutes. She was in the midst of a heart attack. Any tips on that one would be appreciated lol!
I hope London is braver at the vets than felix was!! I agree with you that it is the friends I make on AOL that keep me with them as an internet provider. I am sure whoever you are with, they make alterations and so called improvements.........the swing chair looks cool.............Jules xxxxxx

some of us may have moved, but you can still visit us! it's not like we went very far at all. :-) I'd love for you to stop by sometime. I'm glad London is doing so well. She WILL get that ornament again, no doubt. :-) I'll be thinking of her at the vet's tomorrow. (((hugs)))

p.s. the swing looks wonderful!!! :-)
The pics are awesome. One thing you could do is go out and read new journals and make new friends. I dont think its a ghost town at all. Since some have left i have gained new friends who have come out and spoken up. I also go to the new blogs and still read.

I'm quiet around here, but it's due to my work schedule. I was threatening to leave, but am staying as long as they let me stay for $5 a month. I'm here, and reading, and loving your adventures...I just have very little time to comment.
Yeah it is a bit of a quiet time in J-Land, I hold out hope that everyone will work their way back. We'll see. Glad you're still here though.
That little pup sure has won her way into your heart..I can see it in your writing!
Have a good day!
Jimmy
Aww, I love the pictures. London and the cat look like old friends! LOL Wee-ones chair really does look comfy.
I hope everyones doctor visits went well :)~Melissa

Journals do seem like a ghost town these days. It's not the same but I'm still glad that your here :)
Good luck with wee one and the dentist!
Gretchen
Looks like a cumfy swing!! Yep, J Land has lost a lot of our great journalists. So sad to see them go. I'm glad you're staying Sherry as your journal always cheers me up. You have a lovely way of writing happy and funny thoughts and things that brighten my world. I'm hanging in there with the cleaning business. I just had to change my attitude a bit and realize how much it's helping my family. For a while there I was becoming a "complaining blogger" but as my health improves I'm feeling better. Now I'm off to try to talk the husband into staying up late to wrap. I don't think it's gonna happen though at 11pm all ready. Well hope you had a great weekend. Hugs,
Lisa
