Ahhhh yes, December in Florida. Right now John is outside grilling some burgers, and I'm making lemonade....THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!!! Man, I am going crazy here in the sunshine when everyone else is enjoying blizzards. My sister and her husband left to go back home yesterday morning, however, they had to stay overnight in Nashville as the planes were grounded going to Chicago. Seems there was too much snow. They are home now and probably couldn't get up their driveway due to the 10+ inches they received. Lucky....
I tried listening to Christmas music on the way to church this morning, but with the sun shining down on us it just didn't feel right. Luckily it was cold inside the church, and the stage is all decorated with Christmas trees and "snow", so it did feel festive. When we came out of church it was much colder outside, and it had clouded over....so I just pretended that I was in the north and a snowstorm was on the way. It is pretty cold out there right now. I think it's somewhere around 58....JB is grilling in his sweatshirt....and a red one at that. My own, personal Santa....ho-ho-ho baby....lol.
This week is the kids last week of school before Christmas vacation. I didn't realize this....I thought I had two more weeks of freedom....guess I better get shopping! I'm planning on making my cookies whilst the girls are home. I haven't decided on the full list of goodies yet....but Russian Teacakes have been the most requested so far.....our favorites!
Okay, the grill master is in and the onion rings are done....I better get moving!

I mean I would have a hard time too and I too would pretend it was cold heck I might evneturn up the air in the car to play cold and wear a big old coat. GIRL wish you live d here its snowing and been cloudy snowy all day. That london is sooooooooo tooooooooooooo darn cute.
Oh, My darlin'! It sure has been quiet around here lately. I wish I was there with you in the nicer weather. I only like to visit snow, however I am stuck living with it. . . YUCK. I had enough as a kid. . . Thanks for all the pics of London. What a cutie. Enjoy your baking. . . Sounds good! Cya, Kris
Oh Yea............ We are enjoying the midwest weather.
Love the snow shoveling and salting the ice........ Oh Yea....
I can't wait til I can retire and move someplace warm. I am tired of the snow. I crave warmth!! Grilling (outside!) in December? Only in my dreams. I also love Russian teacakes, but can't seem to make them as good as my mother did. Michele
The weather was similar here today-about 50 degrees. Of course, in Florida that is considered cold but in Nebraska it is a heat wave...lol!

Grilling in December?! I would NEVER be able to get used to that! I am always cold, but I still love the snow and the freezing weather we have here in New England. I don't blame you for not being in the mood for Christmas when it's 58 degrees outside. Love the pic of Wee One hiding under the water from London! Too cute!!!!!!!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa
Yum... you are making me crave onion rings! I know... this Florida weather is just bezerk to me too being from the north... we had burgers earlier this week but it was a wee chilly (I was tickled that we are getting a bit of cold weather down here!!) so I fried them on the stove and baked fries in the oven. So odd to not have snow at Christmas. Your new puppy is a cutie; I love that picture of him peeking in the tub!
Our cat Princess Sophia-Grace ran away and we were so sad- but we had our third Xmas miracle this month when a neighbor gave us a brand new baby kitten! We named her London also so I guess we're making this the popular name of J Land pets now. I think my shopping is done but it's hard to say because I haven't started the wrapping yet. And we have to put the outside lights up but might skip it this year due to Rob's knee surgery. Somehow can't see me on a ladder hanging the lights... they might look awful silly when done being I've never done outside lights before.

oh i remember cookie day at your house from last year. Yummy! I can't wait. Take lots of pictures.
Our weather here is so wacky...one day it's near freezing and then the next it's warm...but still, it's nothing like the NJ winter and I guess it's good and bad. I know how you feel...
I would imagine hot weather at Christmas would seem a bit strange. Love the pics of London............Jules xxxxx

I would love to be outside grilling right now...lol! I'm in here all cold. I love the snow, sledding and all the fun winter activities with the kids..but man I would love to be in fl for a week right now...lol!
Robyn :)
I'm right with you on the Christmas break, I swear they weren't this long when we were in school. We also have a midwinter break thing here... in Feb. they get another week off, my question is... WHAT FOR?
Our favorite cookies are the Russian Teacakes, however my husband and his family insist they are Mexican Wedding cakes (his mom is mexican)
I say let's just call them in my stomach :)
We had frost yesterday and my youngest thought it was snow....poor kid he was so excited at first till he realized.
Last year we had our ac on for Thanksgiving, I just don't get it,lol
My mom had 4 inches of snow on top of the 9 they already had *sigh*
Enjoy your last week of freedom :) Mmmm russian teacake cookies are yum!
Hugs,
Gretchen
If London is not the cutest puppy, I don't know who is!!!
I can't get used to Christmas in FL. Just doesn't seem the same without snow. Although it is great having such nice weather and being able to cook out! Guess you can't have everything...
Wahhhhhh! I miss Florida!!! Enjoy some of that warm weather for me!! Rhonda
