Update on previous entry....

Well, it's official....she has another stone. She was prescribed Lortab for the pain, and told to drink "tons and tons of water".  She is also scheduled for a test in which they inject dye and watch how the kidneys are functioning. Now we have to wait for that call....which I'm sure will not come until next week, being that Monday is a holiday. So, until then she will be drugged up and floating....poor kid.

We went to Walgreens to get her prescription and some Dasani, and then to Zaxby's for a chicken sandwich. She's lying down before her shift at work tonight. Oh, get this one....

The girl who does the "mj" and was supervisor last night, decided to go home because she was "having an allergic reaction to her medicine" and was throwing up. She called and begged this boy to come in and cover for her. He came in to work, after finishing the lawn, even though he had a lot of homework he would have to do after they closed. Well, the girl told Betsy that the real reason she was leaving was: 1. She and her best friend are no longer speaking because of a boy and she is upset, and 2. She tried cocaine the other day and is still feeling agitated. Nice. Betsy told her she was crazy and didn't she know that once she started that she would just want more and more? The girl said she didn't think she'd try it again. Anyway, the boy was talking to Betsy and was saying since the girl was sick, he felt bad....and then Betsy told him the truth. Let's just say he isn't going to be covering for her again. You know, I don't blame Betsy for telling him. And better that others know what's going on too. BTW, Betsy was working with LEGITIMATE pain. I told her not to tell the girl what kind of prescription she had or she'd be trying to buy it from her.

Anyhoo....

I'm just hoping Betsy will be okay, and that she gets some relief soon!

eek...I had the dye injection.  It's like a triple shot of tequila ...in IV form.

are they gonna do some tests to find out what kind of stone it is so they can put her on a preventative?!  I hope so!

Poor girl.  She is a very well brought up child also.  She knows the dangers of drugs and is smart to say the truth.  Good for you and her, mom!

aw man poor betsy. better get some natural spring water. They say lots of people are getting kidney stones ebcuaes we dont drink natural spring water dasani is not a good water. Dont get filtered either get a real spring water purified by reverse osmosis. Had a few friends on kidney stones who never got them again after they quit drinking other stuff and drank spring water. So you might try that.

Oh my sorry to hear that it turned out to be kidney stone for Betsy.  I'll be praying that it passes quickly and she pain doesn't worsen.  Does your hospital have extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy available?  (sound waves strong enough to break up kidney stones)...She certainly is a trooper going to work with such pain.  That "girl" that works (if you want to call what she does work) there, she needs to be fired.  Why can't the employers see that?  Try to have a good weekend.

Ohhh... those are so awful, I will certainly pray for a quick recovery and a smooth and painless passage of that naughty stone!  She's a trooper to work through it, we always knew when a MAN came in with a stone in ER... they walked the "kidney stone shuffle," - all hunched over, crying in pain.  Cute graphic!

Take care!

Poor Betsy!!!!  I know what those stones feel like that's for sure!  I had them when I was pregnant and they couldn't give me ANYTHING for the pain!  I used to drink tons of water and would actually jump up and down to get the stones to move around and not lodge in the urethra.  I am sure it was a pretty funny sight don't you?!?!?  FEEL BETTER ((((((HUGS)))))) for Betsy!!!!  And about that girl who tried cocaine the other night and still didn't feel right, let me tell you from someone who experienced that drug firsthand.  If you do cocaine, you do not feel the aftereffects of it for DAYS after you do it, they are over within in a few hours if even that long.  This girl probably did a few lines BEFORE coming into work which caused her to puke while in work.  They mix cocaine with a laxative and the combo is hard on your stomach if you do too much, which obviously this girl did.  I would say that this employee needs to be let go for coming into work under the influence.
Hugs and love,
Lisa
