Randomness....

I took wee one to the doctor last night and she has a double ear infection. She had been complaining that her throat hurt, but then told me that she was mistaken....it was her ear that hurt and it was shooting pain down into her throat. Great. She had also been sneezing and coughing so I decided I had better get her into the doctor's office. Good thing I did. He put her on an antibiotic....an adult dose. And he said that when she takes anything now....motrin, tylenol, whatever....it's an adult dose. I feel so sad....no more will I have to ask the question, "Do you want bubble gum or mixed berry flavor?" when purchasing fever reducers. Never again will I medicate my baby then while kissing her pain away, inhale the sweet smell of her cherry scented breath. Sigh....

On our way to school today it was raining and I was thinking about the raincoats my kids used to wear. I had a pink vinyl bunny coat with big long rabbit ears attached to the hood. Whenever my girls would wear it, people would comment on how cute they were. I miss those days.....they had matching boots to go with them as well. Now Betsy would rather get soaked than use an umbrella, never mind a raincoat. (Teenagers!) And wee one, although she still loves to use an umbrella, has packed away her Power Puff Girl and Spongebob variety. Plain umbrellas are the protection of choice these days. Ah well, I suppose eventually it was bound to happen. My girls would grow up. But I just didn't expect it to happen so soon....

Betsy woke up with the excruciating pain again today. She says she feels like she passed another stone. I tell you, she's a geologist's dream at this point. I am a bit miffed that I haven't heard from the doctor's office regarding the test, so I will be calling today. I sent her to school with a bottle of water and Advil. We will save the big guns till she gets home. Poor kid.

Today is early release day....which basically means a short day for the kids, and a PITA for me. I just get them where they need to be, and it's time for me to pick them up again. I don't know what one extra hour every two weeks is supposed to do for teacher planning....as I don't think the teachers down here plan anything except how they can get around actually teaching.

*Random Thought* If that freaking dog does not stop barking, I am going to scream.

I am going to have to run to the bank today and deposit a few checks (holy smokes....a DEPOSIT????) and then pick up the dog's pills, get a few groceries and stop by my grandmother's to check on her, as she is not feeling well. So....being that I have a very limited time frame in which to get all of my duties done....I shall bid you adieu....

I hope your girls start feeling better soon.

I am watching my oldest son start to acting so much older these days. It just makes me try to hold onto my littler ones that much harder. It happens so fast. I have always heard how time flies when you have kids. I never thought it would go this fast though.

Geez, BOTH girls are sick now?!?!  Uggghhh!  I don't think my children ever wore raincoats.  Hmmm, maybe Bethany since she was an only child for 4 years, but not the other ones.  I guess I come from the old school of "Hey, you get a little wet, no big deal, you aren't gonna melt!".  LOL!  I hope the girls feel better soon!!!!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa

The tree house looks great.  I bet Wee one is so excited that it is almost done.
The teachers around here are the same way.  They claim they need extra planning hours- but they dont seem to really plan much let alone to  teach much.  SOunds like you have a busy day.  Hope your girls feel better soon.
Hugs

Poor wee-one, that sounds awful and Betsy... ugh, I can't even imagine her pain.  I sure hope they start and stay feeling better soon.
I loved the half-days when I was in school, but thank God, they don't do them my county. LOL  As a parent, it really sucks. ~Melissa

I am feeling the very same way with my kids. My youngest started 1st grade, and I've barely gotten past the 2 AM feedings with her. They grow up a lot more quickly than I am happy with, and it gets harder to back off and let them make their own choices. They need to grow up, they will grow up, but I just don't have to be happy about it!

I hope there's still plenty of time in their lives to enjoy that awesome tree house.

wow, a Praying Mantis, I was just commenting on how long it's been since I've seen one...used to see them all the time.  Holy COW, that cat is chubby, he must be in 7th heaven.  Ah sorry wee is not feeling good, and bummer about Besty's pain returning, hope they both feel better soon, (and your Grandma too).  That tree house is every kids dream...even mine...:), our deck is as close to a tree house as I'll get.  Fall always gives me that passage of time feeling...where does it go?

yEP WHEN IT rains its pours. The chilly night air will get those soar throats popping up everywhere.
And I cannot even imagine the pain your daughter is going through with a kidney stone needing to be past.
Thats why I have always said that woman are stronger than us men. I seriously could not handle that pain.
The Tree House looks fabulous. That is not just a tree house.
That is truely a work of art.
Your husband is very talented.

Hi! I just wanted to tell you that I visit your blog pretty much every day. I have you on my list of favorites, although I do not blog with AOL. If you're interested, you can visit my blog: www.blogigo.com/shellbug773

I just wanted to tell you that I also read Betsy's blog. I hope she starts feeling better. =( She's such a sweet girl and seems like a terrific daughter. =) Wee one seems absolutely adorable. I dont have children...yet! Im in college at the moment, but I want children so bad! I, however, am going to wait.  Your husband seems like a really great guy - once he learns how to separate those darks from whites! ;)

Well, I just wanted you to know that someone other than the AOL Journal bloggers do read and thoroughly enjoy your blog. =) As I said, I have you listed on my favorites and I check every evening. =)

Thanks for listening to this novel of a comment! :)
