Vacuum dilema solved....for now!

Well, I have solved my vacuum dilema for now....I just couldn't part with my Oreck. The only real complaint I have is that after 14 years, the outer bag is ripped in some places (covered, however, with good 'ol duct tape!), and because it's been used in a house with a Golden Retriever, it doesn't smell as fresh as it should. (Yes, I wash it all the time, but it's just worn out). So, being the oh-so-smart woman that I am, I went to eBay and did a search for the bags. Guess what? In 5-7 business days I will be receiving my brand spankin new "Oreck outer bag". And I am paying only $16 for a bag that runs from $35+! Of course, my old faithful is still not as powerful as before so, what am I to do?

I covered that by ordering a new vacuum that was not only on the top of the Consumer Reports list of upright vacuums, but cost a few hundred less than the more expensive brands. In side by side comparisons, it outperformed the Oreck and was equal to or better than the Dyson. It has a bag, which I wanted, along with a hepa sealed filtration system and 12 amp motor. It is the Eureka 4807DT Boss Smart Vac and it too will be arriving at my door in 5-7 business days! I got an awesome deal on it at amazon.com. It was $199 marked down to $138 minus a $25 deal they are running in the kitchen and houseware department....so for less than $150 I got the new vac and the bag to fix the Oreck....Friggin Sweet! LOL....My theory is that I will use the new one on Mon. and Fri. and the Oreck for the "inbetween" jobs. I'm so excited!

Every night for the past 5 nights the girls have shut themselves in Betsy's room in order to do my "power ab" workout. It cracks me up! They have been very serious about it as Betsy "has to lose this stomach I'm getting" (oh yes, I feel so bad for you and your size 4 body....), and wee one says she is going to "get healthy". I am glad to see them doing something together. Betsy has also been helping wee one with her math homework. I just love it when they work together on something other than driving me insane! LOL....

Well, it is time to take wee one to the bus stop and start my day....happy Tuesday!

I have two girls too (16 and almost 14) and they are also very close. It's great, isn't it?  Kaitlin (age 16) is also helping Kelly with her Math!  Now, if I could just get them to be a little nicer to their little brother (he's 10)......(LOL!!)

I havea  eureka hepa filter system vacuem I got off QVC and it has the spin duster on the side. I love that spin duster. You dust the furniture put in the spin duster and it sucks the dust right out of the fuzzy duster . I got it almost two years ago> I do love that Eureka. Now let me tell you I need that recipie. WHEN YOU POST FOODS I have to have the recipie girl!!!!!  Now you are starting something first off I been wanting to exercise I need to get in shape and do it badly. Second I went to lowes Sat night and looked at two more hunter fans one for kitchen and one for livingroom. DID Not get them then went yesterday as I am still looking for matching rug for the livingroom like I got in kitchen. So I looked at those hunter fans and did not get htem again. They got these neat hooks on them. I love them. They are so neat. Looks like a coat rack on hten and the lights go far out sideways not just in the center pointing down. MAN I got to go get them. BUT YOU KNOW I got this guy coming about putting the door in the back tomorrow I need to see how much that is going ot cost me for real. Dang Too much to do. Lori

Hee-hee, I remember thinking I had to lose my stomach too when I weighed 100 pounds soaking wet!  Man, what I wouldn't give to be back there!  :)  Congrats on getting not one, but TWO new vacs (well the Oreck isn't new, but he will feel new and I am sure he appreciates the effort you are going through to still keep him around).
Hugs and love, Lisa

ha, love your graphic.  with that rug, her vacuum truly is an extension of herself!  Glad you found a vac.  Thanks for taking all my hardwork out of finding one by doing the homework. . . hehe.  Tell Lori she can have my fan if she wants it.  The think drives me nuts, and if I can get a decent price I will be able to spring for that chandelier at NM I have my eye on without hubby griping!  LOL  This fan is pretty impressive, but I am not a 'fan' of one in the kitchen, plus we have those 18' ceilings that it doesn't do much good but swirl the smoke too high on the walls to clean it properly without killing yourself.  That's only when my MIL is helping me make dinner though. . . Cute graphics!!  Courtney and I tried to do Taebo workouts together with my videos but then we got this dreadful sinus thing going and my body just won't go.
Glad you found the vacuum you wanted and the bag for the Oreck one you like so well.  Great pictures and what a beautiful bedroom!!
