Exercise schmexercise....

I have seen so many interviews with people who exercise and boast, "Oh, I get up at 5 am to exercise because it gives me so much energy!" I will bet you they are being paid to say that because I just finished my workout and I'm exhausted. I do not feel refreshed, energized or spunky. I do not feel like I can conquer the world, run a marathon or even put my laundry away. I am tired. My eyes are heavy and I want to lie down. How long will it take until I am able to do my workout and look refreshed and revitalized....hmmmmm?!

Right before we went to NC last time, dh filed a complaint regarding our neighbors cats again. (Just as a refresher, they are all unliscensed ferrel cats that number in the high teens. They are flea ridden and malnourished and it is against the law here to feed these cats outside of your home.) They have been digging up our yard and mulch and are procreating under our windows....*collective ewwwwww*. Anyhoo, they were obviously sited as the food dishes are no longer in the driveway, and for a while the garage door was down. However....when I was coming home the other night and just ready to turn into my driveway, the woman who lives there was turning into theirs. I actually stopped the car and stared as, I kid you not, at least 20 cats came out of nowhere and surrounded her car! It was like their master was home and her minions were being called by some sort of telepathic mind meld. All you could see were glowing eyes from all directions....spooky! I hurried up and got in the garage and closed it. Yesterday Betsy said that the guy is feeding them on the side of the house now. The side facing us! Now there are 10 cats sitting out there on the little hill....talk about your pussy galore!

Now, before I get a call from PETA, let me just say....these cats are not taken care of other than a few cans of food a week. They are outside all the time, fighting and wandering about. They are mangy and mean. Florida has quite a problem with ferrel cats. One other thing that was really sad. Right after they got cited, I saw them walking a dog....we have lived here three years and had no idea they had one! Very, very strange....

Today is early release day for the kids. I hate these days....throws a wrench in my schedule! LOL....actually, these kids need all the schooling they can get here and I dont' see why they are wasting one hour every other week on this. If the schools here were top rated I could accept it....but they are farrrrrrrr from that. I'll save that rant for another time! LOL....

I suppose I should go in the kitchen and decide on dinner. I'll put it to a vote....salmon patties or lima bean soup....lol....I can hear the "YUCK"'s already! Have a good one!

Awe so sad about the kitties. If I were you though I would probably be in kitty heaven. Well, that's until one of the suckers scratched me then I would call the town. Half days suck. I do feel refreshed when I work out..but then I get really really hungry and eat twice as much as normal.

I really should not have read this on my way out to the gym!

I vote for the lima bean soup, but, then again, I'm in NJ and it's a bit chilly here today!

I DO find that I get alot of energy after I exercise BUT I must admit, it takes about a week of consistency before that happens.  The first week, I AM totally exhausted when I'm done!

I agree with the half day schedule.  Throws off the ENTIRE day.  Good luck with that cats.  I'm not a cat lover myself ( I have 2 dogs) but even I feel bad for them!

Have you called animal control? Something has to be done about that b/c the problem will only get worse...if there is a bright side to this, it's you wont have any mice problems :)

I have really gotten a lot out of my exercising.  But I do mine in the afternoon.  There is just too much going on and to do in my house in the morning time.  All the baby stuff and chores are exercise enough in the morning!!  That is just sad about the cats.  I have two of my own (fixed) and I couldn't imagine having more than that!  Whew!  Anyway, have a great HUMP day!!!*~*Emily

Now Sherry, it does take a little while before the effects of the am workout routine are truly noticed.  I challenge you to two full weeks of early morn workouts, where, yep you have to get up a little earlier than you normally would, and then tell us how it is working for you.  And it has to be consistent, or it won't work.  I hav never heard of lima bean soup, but love lima beans.  I ahve even gotten my children to liek them witha  littl butter and sour cream.  Go figure.  Cya, keep up the great work, it pays off in dividends!  Kris

Call a Chinese restaurant in town and let them know about all these "free" cats they can have.  LOL!  I am soooo bad I know!  Shame on me!  ;)

I wish I could get myself to get back on my workout.  If I ever get over what Florida is doing to my sinus and chest and lungs I'll be finally getting in some real shape.  You'd think I would weigh nothing after all the cleaning we do... but nope, I am gaining from last year!  Grrrrr.   My cleaning adventures have flat out worn me out... and moving.  You would think we moved into this house a week ago... no it was a year ago and I'm still worn out!!  I guess it was a long hot summer and a busy one at that... I hope that I will feel exercised and refreshed but I too will probably want a nap immediately and for someone to pick me up off the floor when I'm done because I'm sure part of me will be stuck there!  Yes, I too agree about the early dismissal thing.  What a wrench it is!  Hugs,
Lisa

Yeah, I too never figured out how exercising really gives you a lot of energy. Indeed after excercise and shower I feel like napping.

I just wish I could keep up with it, it makes me feel good and tired at the same time.  I'm definitely not one of those early morning "perky" types, so it's hard for me to exercise with a smile on my face that early.  I have found that coffee helps!

Personally, I can't top Lisa's answer!  Those were my thoughts too. So, I guess that makes two of us who are bad.  Exercise, early?  No way, ain't happening with me.  I can do it in the afternoon and be OK.  Perky?  NO, never I'm well beyond ever seeing perky ... in many areas of life. ::sigh::
