Yeah, I know what you are thinking....that should be orange juice in that glass! LOL....
And so, I put on my best "Bree" smile and walked across the street, cookies in hand. The lady had just gotten out of her car and was unloading things when I started over. By the time I got there, she was heading toward the door, so in my best DH voice I called out "Yoohoo!", (yes, I actually said yoo hoo). She turned around and I introduced myself, extended a hand, etc., etc. We chatted for a bit and she thanked me for the cookies. We talked about the kids and she told me her daughter is....diabetic. I'm mentally running through my brain thinking, what is the proper thing to say to the woman who's child is diabetic and to whom you've just handed a tin full of sugar? I blurted, "Oh jeez, and I just gave you cookies!" To my great relief she laughed and said not to worry....her daughter can have sweets, just at certain times. I felt terrible! I didn't want the poor girl to have to sit and watch her little brother eating all the cookies....I was trying to remember if I had any recipes for sugar free cookies, and made a mental note to check online if I didn't.
Anyway, they seem like a nice family. I didn't meet the husband as he wasn't home, but that's okay. Their youngest is 3 and the girl just turned 7. She said to me, "Your little girl is the one with the scooter!" I laughed and said yes....of course that came back to bite me in the posterior....
Wee one took her first spill on the scooter this afternoon, and I've been icing her knee and feeding her Motrin ever since. I'm a little worried because although she can walk on it, she is having a terrible time bending it and it is swelling in an odd way. There is a knot the size of a marble about a half inch off center of her kneecap, and (while looking straight at her knee) just above and to the right it is swollen and tight. I hope shedidn't chip the kneecap. Kara? Erin? Any ideas? I am going to see how things are in the morning, but I'm pretty sure instead of going out to lunch with the hubby like I planned, I'll be sitting at the doctor's office.
Okay, I'm off to administer more ibuprofin and change the ice pack....I will update in the morning....

actually We find it works better to crunch Ibuprophin in the spot. We found this out camping We had nothing for a swollen bump on Tracys eye brow next to her eye. We crunches ibuprophen in water andmadea paste and appliedit and the knot under neath went right down. Awesome how that worked. faster than takiing a pill and it going thru the system. Glad you got your cookies passed out and did the BREE thing. HOw awesome. I can never do that. !!!!!!! Nope not me. I just cant do that. Let us know how your daughters knee turns out. Lori
YOO HOO SHERRY!!!
I would suggest a dr. visit if it is swelling "funny." An x-ray would never hurt and better to be safe than sorry. Doesn't sound like an ER visit to me, unless the pain is unbearable and unrelieved with motrin.
Bree rocks!
Thanks for the sweet comment in my journal. I'm sorry for the loss of your best friend. I could not fathom the pain you must have endured.

YOU are BREE!!! how nice cookies! I hope your daughters knee is better be sure to update tommorrow. My DVR ran out of space at the end of desperate housewives did I miss anything good?? Heather~
I would take her to the ER. That's my advice. It might be nothing and it might be something and the only way to know is to xray. Unless...if you don't need referals or if you do call the doc and ask for a good orthopedist and they should have an xray machine right in the office. Wee one might be staying home for a few days. I love the YooHoo that was so cute. And i think that was just too sweet of you to wanna look up the sugar free cookies. You are too good. Next time maybe a casserole? LOL
Yay! I'm so glad you were able to take the cookies over. :-) I'm not very good at that stuff. I'll have to try someday.
I hope that Wee One feels better! I'm sure she's going to be able to climb right back on the scooter, though. :-)

I love those cookies jumping in and out of that milk, man what I would give to have a neighbor like you. The neighbors across the street from me built their nice house about 15 yrs ago. I had a maid at the time. I went to the store and bought some nice flowers and took them over with my maid.........When I got to this part I had just come in from work and fed Farley the baby goat in my journal I talk about then came down to my computer read your entry and started putting this comment on here. my bathroom door shut very loudly. I got up went and looked and my house had been broken into. I think they were in the house when I came home from work and they left while I was on the computer. Man I've had the s --- scared out of me they broke the bathroom window left finger prints and blood so maybe they will get caught. My daughter is at her boyfriends house. All they took was a $100.00 out of my daughters drawer and a dvd player. It could have been so much worse. I have so much stuff in this house. Now that they know will they be back? I think she forgot to set the alarm system. Oh My God It could have been so much worse.
Yeah, you finally brought the cookies over!! Now your neighbor is officially welcomed into the neighborhood! OWIE on Wee One's knee!! Sounds like it really hurt!
Hugs and love, Lisa

You actually said Yoo- Hoo?OMG,thats hilarious.I can just see you walking across the street with a big Bree smile with cookies in hand.Oh,wait a minute,I dont remember Bree being a lesbo!LOL I hope wee-one's knee is better today..KIM
"yoo hoo" Remember me? Long, long time since I've stopped by for a visit, I know. I didn't bring cookies, but instead I brought you a great big hug and a "yoo hoo". :-)
missed you, chick! A great deal, and I have tons of catching up to do!!
You did the perfect neighborly thing! When my next door neighbors moved in I took them a made from scratch chocolate cake. Since then I occasionally take over a pan of brownies. They used to smile big when they'd see me coming, because they knew goodies were on their way. Now they groan, because they know goodies are on their way (lol -- bad for their waistline and "butts", you know! Boy, do I get testy around health conscious people! Lighten up a little people and I don't mean calorie wise either!!)
About wee one's knee -- I took a terrible spill about a year ago at the rollerskating rink. I went straight down on my knees -- direct impact. I was much much more concerned about the left one. It developed a knot on it, quite swollen, painful to walk and bend. Steps were nearly impossible to do!
I did go get it checked out and discovered it is extremely difficult to break a knee cap, but I did bruise that puppy rather good. It took a good month before I was even starting to get back to normal. Hopefully she'll heal quicker, but be prepared should it linger on for a spell.
Moving on to the next entry! Love you, Anna
