Why is it that no one in my household can sort laundry? Is it really asking too much that the colors be separated? I have two baskets, one for DARKS and one for LIGHTS. They are on top of the washer and dryer, for ease of use. I always start the baskets out by putting one dark item in one basket and one light item in the other. Now, I could see making a mistake at this point....but the mistakes don't come until the baskets are filled! THis morning I went to the laundry closet and what did I find? You guessed it....the light basket, full of clothes, and one lone DARK GREEN towel bundled on top. ANd I know the culpret....dh. He took his shower first this morning. Although, my girls are just as bad. Betsy balls up her things, and whatever color is on the outside of the ball is the basket it goes in. And Hayley? She just bypasses the system altogether, by putting the clothes between the baskets. I give up. I will just continue to sort and wash....either that or send them on their way with pink underwear, or bleached out jeans....of course, I'll just get blamed for it!

Hang in there! Around my house I have to FORCE the laundry on everyone else. I never get any help, and forget sorting--I'm lucky if clothes make it to the hamper! :o)
OH MY, I hate Laundry. And when the kids started telling me that they didn't have anything to wear, I told them I ONLY DO LAUNDRY that is in the Laundry Room...Otherwise 'not my worry'. wow, I get laundry into the laundry room every week now, I just have a continuous load always going. I HATE LAUNDRY. Good luck with your Pink underwear, and bleached jeans.
:) Kate
Woudn't they just die if you actually did that? I don't mind doing the laundry, but i HATE putting them away! Have fun with your laundry, I'm off to do my own :(
You really crack me up. Check out MY system in my entry today....
Hey...you big dreamer! The day my family sorts is the day I officially faint dead away. Here's the good news though...eventually, they start to do their own. My timetable for laundry NEVER works for my oldest...so I'm down one human's worth of wash....YIPPEE! Find peace of mind in knowing this....pink underwear NEVER hurt anybody!
:-)
I'm lucky if the clothes end up anywhere near the pile next to the washer. My youngest likes to strip down and change clothes in the living room, then just leave them laying there! UGH!!! ~Melissa
You have your family trained well, mine leave them where they drop them and I do hate laundry too. What I hate most is when they leave them inside out, drives me crazy so I've been washing them that way. The way they give them to me is the way they get them back.
At least you do laundry!
I was like you with my white and colored baskets but the family didn't sort them. I did. Once a day, in the morning I'd go get their clothes. I gave up trying to get them to walk them down to the laundry room.
I jut throw everything in together and if they get pink socks or grey white shirts I tell them they're lucky to have them clean and that they're welcome to do it themselves if they'd like. I really do that! LOL!
