I figured I had better write something this morning, so that Karensull12 will have some material to riff off of.
I just got back from the bus stop, and am enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee, and a homemade blueberry muffin. My house smelled like a cafe when I came in. I love starting the coffee before I walk out, just so I can smell it brewing when I return. I don't even need to drink it....I just savor the aroma.
It was a 'mom' morning at the bus stop. The working mom's were off, and the hibernating moms showed up. I, however, drove dd to the bus stop, so that meant I was not "presentable" enough to get out of the car and chat. The first year we lived here, I was showered, make-uped and coiffed every morning so that no one would go running and screaming when they saw me undone. And, after a year of returning from the bus stop with wilted hair and humidity face (my eyeliner would end up on my chin), I have decided to go au natural. So, I usually just slip on a pair of sunglasses, gloss the lips and go. However, since starting this journal, I seem to have less time in the morning (due to my pre-bus stop reading), and even the gloss/glasses gets to be too much. So, I've been driving a lot lately. I've got to stop that because then I get lazy and don't do my walk....etc., etc. It's a vicious circle! Journals cause me to be lazy, stop exercising, sit and drink coffee and eat pastries....but, I suppose it's a small price to pay for my endless hours of entertainment, and good friends. (Whom I am assuming, are reading their journals with naked faces and undone hair as well!)

Nope, no naked face here, it's all dressed up in a smile. :-) Hugs Lanny
Well the ONLY thing that surprises me about this entry is that you go to the bus stop without makeup and hair done up. Someone's slipping in the "perfection" department.....
I always look like crap, you're not alone. The journals replaced my 2 miles walk as well. It shows! Scary! And I have turned on the coffee maker just for the smell in the past. And also..i never absolutely never ever get out of the car during the rides to school. I'm not in the clique nor do i wanna be.
I'm the original low maintanence girl. I confess, I'll go over to school or shopping...no makeup, hair in a ponytail. (showered of course!) They can take me or leave me. But if they're making their call on me based on whether I've got a face on...their loss. Don't get me wrong...I love doing the girly thing. I think I clean up pretty good! But if it's a tossup...journals?...mascara?....journals win HANDS DOWN! I'm with Lanny - put your smile on and you're ready to GO!
LOL, I laughed when reading this, because I could have written it! I also used to be all dressed and undereye concealer on and all when I walked my daughter to the bus stop. Now? Just like you, I drive so no one can see I'm still in my PJ's. LOL ~Melissa
Yep, you guessed it, I am still with a naked face and undone hair (well, do you call the sunglasses pulling it back "done" hair?). I hardly ever put makeup on and I drive the kids to school and get out of the van to walk them in. People are used to seeing this freckled face by now I presume! If I ever did show up with makeup, they would probably think I was going to an interview or something! And, yes, I love to read journals too, and it does take priority after the kids!
Hugs, Lisa
I'm a sunglass-lipstick person myself. Keep an extra set in the car in case you have to get out. ; )
you are so right..journals can tend to take priority over the other things we uded to think were important. My kids are older now and both drive but in the old days I would drive them to the bus stop, mornings are a very scary time for me . I am lucky to get the kids up in time who has time to worry about appearances?? lol
I have this big problem though. I use my sunglasses as hair holder backers so they can't hide my "naked " eyes and I'l just look stupid with two pairs, ROFL!!!
