I took the dog to the vet today for his recheck. I tell ya, I'm going to go broke before he does! $140 to take some blood and say, "Gee, he looks great!" Sheesh! They test his phenobarbital levels to make sure his medication is preventing seizures. You know what? I can tell you for FREE if it's working....and it is. I always know when his medication needs tweaking....it's like a mother's instinct. He's been with me longer than wee one, so I should know. They gouge me $60 for that test....next time I'm going to ask if it is completely necessary. Of course, it may be "necessary" in order for them to give me the script....so they have me by the proverbial "balls". Yeah, you read that right....no PG entry for me today....I'm goin full out PG-13! I'm doing it because my head hurts and I'm crabby to boot!
Anyhoo....I called customer service about wee one's scooter. I placed the call at 12:00, and hung up at 12:35. Yes, I was on hold THAT long. And no music to listen to....just recorded testimonials about how wonderful their company is, peppered with cutsie pleas to "stay on the line and the next customer service representative will be right with you." So, I finally get someone who takes all my info, then proceeds to say, "I'm going to put you on hold just for a second to transfer you to another department". I am sent to another wait pattern....but I was only there a few minutes before Pedro (that was his name) answered. He took my info and put me on hold....for 10 freaking minutes. By that point I had zoned out and wondered if maybe he had said goodbye, as I was surfing the web whilst waiting. There was no recording or anything, just silence. So, I hung the phone up. Two seconds later it rings, and it's my old pal Pedro, telling me that he apologized for taking so long to process my order. I'm thinking yeah, sure, it's 12:30 and you are probably stuffing your face and forgot me....jerk. We finish the order and then he says, you know, we have an accessory pack that was $49....I'm thinking, how nice, they are giving me something free since they forgot to pack the proper parts....but oh no....he can probably still get it for me for the holiday price of only $19.95. I'm like, if I order it, will you send me all the parts? No thank you. After I refused his oh so generous offer, he speed talks the rest of his "script", and says the part will be here in the next two to three "business weeks" (huh?) and it will come UPS, no cost to me. No sh**?! Really? You mean I don't have to pay for the missing parts? Well, whoop de freakin do. But, the important thing is that they are on their way and wee one is going to be thrilled....in two to three business weeks....

WEll now I have the seizure dog you know.PEPPER I got him out of his with herbs and proper dog food. No by products. Do you know what htey contain??????? By products are often with diesase and cancer and what they tear off hte meat and dont give to humans. OH Great now you have a headach and your stinking friend has just made you sick to your stomach!!!!!!! I also use herbs. They also told me get him a puppy which I did and it helped. He is down to two seizures a year. That is great and he can get back up after then unlike before. Now about those balls!!!!!!!!! maybe that is why you got a head ache. custoer service and vet bills yeah that gives a head ache. sure enough. as for three business weeks. What the crap is that ???????? that means March right????????? purt near if you figure it out. CRAP BULL CRAP> Lori
"Pedro" and "three business weeks"?! Hee-hee! You sure you weren't calling AOL? LOL!! Too funny! I have a very short tolerance level for being kept on hold, just ask my wonderful MIL who has call waiting, I wait a total of 1 minute, 2 maximum, and then it's "click", buh-bye. I am a bit of a freak when it comes to waiting, oh and did I mention impatient! LOL! Hope you feel better soon sweety!

Sometimes it seems the vets just do these tests to kick up your bill...next time tell him no...and would you believe somehow the white ring to my food grinder on my kitchen aid went missing...I was like a mad woman looking all over for this part...and it's because I let the kids wash it along with the dishes...John and I searched the entire kitchen and it's gone...and I need that part to work my pasta maker...Imagine, we've had to eat bagged pasta! So I went on the kitchen aid website and onto their live help section and explained what happened and they are going to ship me the missing part and for "Free" no shipping, nothing!! And you are right, with my new glasses my kitchen aid looks even more appealing than ever!
As always, luv the graphics! Sorry to hear about the headache. It does kind of sound like my sinus thing I have going... it all started out with a bad headache! I hope that isn't what it is! I have been fighting it on and off for about 6 weeks but the sinus part isn't getting mcuh better yet. Slow recovery.
U are a super good mom to go thru all that to get parts for wee one! I highlighted a little section in my last entry thanking you for reminding me about the calendars in one of your recent entries! Can't wait to get my 2005 calendars organized! I feel lost all ready in 2005 without my planning time and we seem to be running behind schedule. Perhaps we haven't recovered much over here from the hurricanes yet. Can ya believe hubby just straightenened up the garage from that whole ordeal! Yep, we are slow. Working a lot. It's been so busy at work due to damages & we're still working on some of the apartments that were damaged at the job site. So glad our house made it thru ok except for one small leak!!

I know what you mean about vet's bills. It makes me think about how awful it would be if human health care was pay-as-you-go here & so grateful we have what's left of the good old National Health Service. I'd have to think twice about being ill if I had to pay vet prices!

I do hope that your headache has disappeared! Of course, I would've had a headache too after all that. . . Happy your dog is okay though. They need us for things like that. I am scared for when mine starts to really have issues. he will be 13 in March. Like you, I had him before my youngest two kids, so he is a big part of our family. Cya, Kris
Yea know how you feel with headaches and yes stress does not help I get that way to. Music helps if it ani't to loud lol I may just find mine and relax to the music and clean. I hate being on held
